Fulcrum was founded in 1998 when Brent Bauer, CEO and founder, led a group of investors in acquiring a barcode application provider that had created asset tracking solutions for a number of wireless carriers. Bauer's vision was to capitalize on the needs of the rapidly growing telecom market. In accordance with this vision, the company narrowed its focus to the telecom industry and changed its name to Fulcrum Technologies. The Fulcrum name was selected because a "fulcrum" is the point on which a lever rests -- the place where the power to move large objects comes from. The fulcrum reflects the many ways our company leverages barcode and wireless technologies for our customers. Fulcrum's CATS™ has been installed by more communication providers than any other Infrastructure Lifecycle Management solution. Nation-wide providers like AT&T Mobility demonstrate the power of CATS across a larger enterprise. Numerous regional carriers like Southern LINC reflect the great return on investment for smaller providers as well.
